AIR NOSTRUM : called off ! 

Pilots from Air Nostrum called a strike for April 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24.

However, the company Air Nostrum and the Sepla pilots’ union have reached an agreement today that ends the strike that began on Monday 16th, when 49 flights were canceled from this airline that is part of the Ilai group and which operates as a regional Iberia line, according to business sources. Air Nostrum sources have indicated that the company is “working intensively” to recover most of the canceled flights on Wednesday, April 17th, while flights on April 22, 23 and 24 will operate normally.

SPANISH AIRPORTS

ADOLFO SUAREZ- MADRID BARAJAS AIRPORT : strike is still on

The Madrid Security workers at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport are facing their fifth consecutive day of protests in the framework of the indefinite strike that began on April 12th.

Travelers are facing faced lines of over an hour to pass through security controls.

HANDLING WORKERS : called off!

The strikes scheduled for April 21st and 24th in the handling services at the Spanish airports have finally been called off after ASEATA and the Strike Committee, made up of UGT and USO, reached an agreement.

On April 21st and 24th, the 60,000 handling workers of the Spanish airports are also called to work stoppages.

The resolution of The Ministry of Public Works and Transport will guarantee 100% of the domestic services for each route with the airports of the non-peninsular territories during both days of strike.

Regarding air services between Spanish cities in the peninsula with an alternative public transport that involves a travel of less than 5 hours:

  • 40% of the total is guaranteed for April 21st
  • 38% for the second day of protest April 24th
  • These percentages increase to 65% and 61%, respectively, when the alternative exceeds 5 hours and on international routes.

ADIF, PORTS AND MARITIME SALVAGE

High-speed Adif (Spanish railway infrastructure), the State Port Authority and the Maritime rescue service were also called to strike on April 17th CCOO trade union.

This strike was cancelled since both parts reached an agreement.

Partial stoppages are only expected on the 24th and 26th since they reached an agreement on the other dates.

From next Thursday, April 18th, the security guards who work for Renfe in Madrid take the witness to the strikes. The mobilization will consist of partial stoppages of two hours from Thursday, April 18th until April 28th.
