JOUR APRÈS JOUR

  • Day 01: After arriving at the airport of Santiago, we travel to the heart of the historical centre: the emblematic Praza do Obradoiro. It marks the location of the Parador Hostal dos Reis Católicos, a magnificent Renaissance building facing the Cathedral. This is one of the most famous and most charming hotels. We visit its courtyards and Royal Chapel. We then walk around the local streets (rúas) do Franco and A Raiña, where we will enjoy specialities of Galician cuisine.

  • Day 02: A local guide will show us the interior of the majestic Romanesque cathedral; we will look at the surrounding plazas and also visit other places in the city. We will walk around the market, see the various historical buildings of the University of Santiago and the pretty Paseo da Ferradura, which offers unbeatable views of the historical centre. We then travel to Cambados and enjoy a fruity Albariño wine in a beautiful ‘pazo’ that stands hidden among vineyards. Today, we stay at the beautiful Parador Hotel of Cambados.

  • Day 03: We walk around the quarters of this seaside town: from the solemn Fefiñáns to the fishing quarter of Santo Tomé. Then, we travel with the coast on our right, seeing sandbanks, charming fishing villages such as Combarro and the many examples of Pontevedra architecture. We cross the estuary of Vigo and travel to Baiona. We will visit this beautiful town and stay at its fortress, which marks the location of the well-conserved pazo. We will enjoy dinner with beautiful views of the ocean.

  • Day 04: We leave the coast and travel inland to the city of Ourense. We will walk around the historical centre, paying particular attention to the Cathedral and the symbol of the city: the springs of As Burgas, which flow with hot water. We soon reach a countryside dominated by vineyards and cliffs. We will visit the gorges of the River Sil on a catamaran and see the Romanesque architecture of many monasteries. Indeed, today we stay at one of them: the Parador Hotel of Santo Estevo.

  • Day 05: We continue travelling along roads that offer art and legend on every bend. We will walk next to the River, visit the Castle of Castro Caldelas and taste the local red wines of the Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin. We travel north through the historical town of Monforte on our way to the walled city of Lugo. We will walk along the Roman walls before travelling towards the Cantabrian Coast, where today’s destination is the Parador Hotel of Ribadeo and its beautiful views of the estuary. Today, we will enjoy dinner in a privileged location next to the sea.

  • Day 06: We will walk along the Beach of As Catedrais, an unrivalled natural monument. At low tide, the rocks stand like buttresses of Gothic churches. On our way to Santiago, we stop off at the historical town of Mondoñedo, where we will visit the Cathedral and an interesting area with small craft workshops. From here, we return to Santiago de Compostela and stay once again at the Parador Hotel.

  • Day 07: Today, we will travel to what was considered the ‘end of the world’ for centuries: the Finisterrae of Galicia, i.e. Cape Finisterre. We will also visit the port of Fisterra. We will discover beautiful beaches and small estuaries. In Muxía, we will visit the Shrine, next to a landscape of rocks, before returning to Santiago. We will enjoy free time before dinner at a lively restaurant in the historical centre.

  • Day 08: After breakfast, we travel to the airport of Santiago and that marks the end of our services.
